To perform live searches, Amazon requires your MWS credentials to associate API calls with your account. You must have a Professional Seller's Account on Amazon in order to receive MWS keys. Although a Professional Sellers Account costs $39.99 each month, it will save you $0.99 in fees on each item sold plus you can become Buy Box eligible with a professional account. Thus, if you're selling more than 40 items each month, this fee will actually save you money.
You can enter your MWS Information into the Amazon Settings page on our website at app.scoutiq.co/amazon_settings
Follow the steps on that page to retrieve your MWS credentials and paste them into the web portal. Once you enter your Amazon Seller ID and the Amazon Auth Token, click "Save Information" and we'll validate that your credentials work. If they do, we'll display a confirmation banner. If they are not valid, we'll alert you and you can try to enter them again.
Troubleshooting your Account
Why won't my credentials work? If your account is brand new or you recently upgraded to a Professional Seller's Account, Amazon may delay the approval of your MWS credentials for a few hours (or even a day or two). Wait a few hours and then try to re-enter the credentials, and they should work. If they don't, reach out to our customer support team at firstname.lastname@example.org for more assistance.
When entering your credentials, make sure to follow the EXACT steps outlined on our web portal. Don't enter your Amazon store name - enter your Seller ID, which is a series of letters and numbers that looks something like this: A2DE29DKLJ98J. Your MWS Auth Token will always begin with mws.amzn. and then have a bunch of random letters and numbers as well.
Here's how to find your Seller ID if you forgot to copy/paste it when you initially connected your account to ScoutIQ:
What if my Account Stops Working all of the sudden?
Amazon will typically authorize your MWS credentials with a particular developer (i.e. ScoutIQ) for a period of 12 months. You're required to renew the connection periodically to ensure that we still have permission to do live lookups on your behalf. If your account stops working, it could be that your credentials need to be renewed. You can see your active credentials here:
Find ScoutIQ in the list, then click the "Renew" button and you'll be good to go for another year!
